Agriculture is what India has prominent as an industry after independence and the Government also understood the need to support and invest in this sector. All the five years plans and currently NITI AYOG have been focusing on agriculture as Back Bone of the Indian Economy. Though a large amount has been invested in Agriculture and Agri-allied sector, it needs management of all its resources i.e. Land, Labor, Capital, Technology etc.
Lotus Business School, Pune (top management institute affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University) comes with the idea of the “Farmers Education Programme” which satisfies and motivates to achieve its Vision statement “To provide an ecosystem that nurtures and enhances managerial competencies through value-based education”. After the initiation of IQAC, Farmers Education Programme is designed by Agri-Business Management and Financial Management course faculties at Lotus Business School to address the accounting part of the day to day farm-related activities. Indian farmers are well known for their hard work and dedication to agriculture. Still keeping records of all incomes and expenses is not a habitual activity for farmers; there is a need to be practised. Hence under this programme, accounting documents are designed in the local language to simplify the record-keeping procedure. Applicability and Simplicity are the key aspects of this programme.
Lotus Business School arranges a training programme with the objective to educate farmers about the importance of income-expenses record-keeping and techniques used to maximize profit by minimizing expenses through cost-efficient activities. Respective faculties provide in-house training to students, after their efficient training these students arrange sessions for farmers in different villages. This training programme is free of cost and provided by Lotus Business School as a social responsibility towards our beloved farmers.
This programme has its ongoing activities and targets to cover a maximum number of Maharashtra villages. To date Lotus Business School has already arranged many sessions, some are at Kanhere (Tal. Amalner, Dist. Jalgaon), Kumbhari (Dist. Solapur), and Loanwadi (Tal. Nandura Buldhana), Modalpda ( Dist. Nandurbar), Mantha (Dist. Jalna).
